Ape Skull’s ‘Fields Of Unconscious’ Exclusive Stream

We love Italy’s APE SKULL’s blend of post-psych heaviness. Stream their forthcoming album in its entirety here

Giuliano Padroni: drums, lead vocals, backing vocals
Fulvio Cartacci: guitar, backing vocals
Pierpaolo Pastorelli: bass, backing vocals

Ape Skull were born in 2008. After various experiences with bands such as Sciacalli and The Others, three friends start a project that plan to continue the path that is part of their background. Blues, funk and psychedelia are some of the ingredients that characterise their compositions. The genre can essentially be called rock!

After the first two albums (Ape Skull and Fly Camel Fly, issued by Heavy Psych Records), Ape Skull are happy to present their third work Fields Of Unconscious, produced by Ape Skull and Skronk Records. Here we find original songs that embody the sound of Ape Skull. It also includes, as with previous albums, a cover version customised by their sound, in this case Jeronimo’s 1969 version of the Bob Markley/JJ Stalling song ‘Heya’ (originally released by JJ Light – Stalling’s stage name).

Ape Skull’s rock lives in the present, with its ear turned to all the musical genres that inspired the musical revolution of the ’60s and ’70s. Shindig! adore their post-psych power trio approach and suggest you buy the album. View the band’s site here.
