This set was recorded at a band rehearsal in Dortmund in February 1986. I am unfamiliar with any of The Raymen's original studio releases, but the titles give alot of clues. ''HillyBilly Werewolf', 'Ju-
Ju Brain' 'It Came From Outer Space'. Yep, we're in lo-fi Cramps/Meteors territory here. In the liner notes vocalist Hank Ray is very pleased that the tapes have surfaced after all this time, but if I were him I would have re-recorded the vocals. Hank sounds like Lux Interior singing underwater. The 13 songs were recorded in one take to four-track. There is a raw and vibrant immediacy to the two instrumentals, but the vocals simply don't cut it..
